A compact package that delivers the goods, that’s what you’ll find waiting at Overlook Nook. This small but mighty 2-bedroom, 2 bath home certainly lives up to its name and you can see it from the moment you drive in, with its majestic view “looking over” the Great Smoky Mountains just a stone’s throw away. Even though this home is located in a small family-friendly neighborhood, don’t let the simple cottage style exterior fool you. The instant you walk into its living space, you are drawn in by the attention to detail and amenities maximizing the property’s smaller footprint with eye-catching artwork and modern furnishings in a refreshing clean space.
Overlook Nook invites you to stay for a night or two but makes you want to stay much longer. Norm is not the word here, where you’ll find understated elements to make your visit more enjoyable with everything from yoga mats to granola bars, to the latest in board games and DVDs, plus an outstanding “Give a Book, Take a Book” library. Modern lighting touches and a well thought out kitchen, center island station and modern high top dining area lend to an ambiance of space functionality. Plus, its open floorplan is designed to keep conversations flowing. Always with the guest in mind. Out on the deck, a gas grill, large outdoor seating area, rockers and hot tub await. So does that amazing view. The firepit with oversized Adirondack chairs welcomes you home to sit under the stars visiting with friends.
Sleeping four adults comfortably, this home features one king primary bedroom with full bath and a second guest queen bedroom with full hallway bath with tub/shower combo. Flat screen TVs are available in each bedroom and in the living space. This home is perfect for a few nights or for a weekly or seasonal rental and includes central heat and air, full size washer, dryer, streaming cable, high speed internet, as well as an electric fireplace.
Please note this property is not pet friendly. Unauthorized pets on property will incur a $300 per pet penalty. The approach to this property is a mountain road with some short period of incline. We do experience seasonal inclement weather in this region. All-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive and/or snow tire chains would be required in winter weather events.
There is so much to do around this vacation home all year-round. Just a few minutes’ drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel's “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 25 minutes, you could be in downtown Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
This home is a less than a 30 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Harrah's Cherokee Casino (even if you do not gamble, Harrah's has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).
A little more than 50 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America's largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 30 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.Approximately, 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas.
You are just under 1 hour 35 minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood).
