Get that top of the world feeling from the moment you arrive at Deer Ridge. Just a short distance from the main road in Jonathan Valley and perfect for motorcycles, this cozy three bedroom, three bath cabin sits perfectly nestled atop the ridgeline. You can just feel the world fall away as you draw that first breath of cool mountain air. You’ll want to spend every minute you can in the oversized rockers outside, whether it’s looking out over the majestic view by the gas column firepit or reading your favorite book, the perfect place for a morning cup of coffee or an evening glass of wine. Just a few short steps away is a brand new five-person hot tub where you can spend the evening talking about the day’s adventures.
From the moment you step inside, feel instantly refreshed as warm sunlight fills the home’s main living space with its floor to ceiling windows. An open floor plan combines large living area, dining and kitchen space that opens to a spacious loft located on the second floor. The large stone wood burning fireplace with its hand-hewn mantle decorates one wall of this area finished out with a large flat screen TV, complete with any DVD imaginable. The dining room takes in the beautiful view across the deck to the mountain ranges beyond. Private and secluded yet only minutes from downtown Maggie Valley, this home offers convenience while enjoying the best the Great Smoky Mountains has to offer.
Adjacent to the living area is the main floor king bedroom with its own private access to the side deck complete with rockers and table for late night conversations under the stars. The master king bath with tub and shower are also accessed by the living space as well. Moving upstairs to the loft area, find your place on the overstuffed couch looking out through windows over the mountaintops, perfect for reading time on those rainy days. The queen bedroom with accompanying full bath is located adjacent to the loft area and boasts beautiful views of its own. Bathroom access is available via both the loft and upper-level bedroom. Tucked away downstairs on the lower floor you will find the additional queen bedroom and bath. Adjacent to the third bedroom is the garage man cave area complete with washer/dryer laundry area and card table. Central heat and air, high speed Wi-Fi, gas and charcoal grill, hot tub, propane firepit as well as garage use complete this wonderful home.
Please note this property is pet friendly. One large dog or two 40 pound or under dogs would be accepted. Unauthorized pets on property will incur a $300 per pet penalty. Approach to the home is fully paved with a gradual increase in incline and steepness. Four-wheel drive, all-wheel drive and/or chains would be required during any type of snow or ice event. Motorcycles welcome.
Deer Ridge is only a few minutes’ drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel's “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 25 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
This home is about a 35-minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Harrah's Cherokee Casino (even if you do not gamble, Harrah's has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).
A little more than 50 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America's largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 30 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops. Approximately, 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas.
You are just under 1 hour 35 minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood).
