The spacious free flowing living area with large wood log fireplace is the perfect for a family and friends gathering. No one is left out as this wonderful space encompasses an open kitchen and informal dining area. The cooks in the family will enjoy the company around the breakfast bar sharing stories of the day or enjoying a meal or a game of cards around one of two dining tables. The master king bedroom and master bath are located just steps from the kitchen and just down the hall is one queen bedroom with full bathroom and a third bedroom with two twin beds. All on just one level.
Dogwood House offers central heat and air, Spectrum high speed internet, Wi-Fi, laundry room with washer/dryer, a large screen Firestick and YouTube Smart TV, wood fireplace, campfire charcoal grill, covered front porch and everything you came to the mountains to enjoy.
Please note this is a dog friendly property, one dog 30 pounds or less or two small dogs 15 pounds or less are accepted. It is the guest's responsibility to contact the property manager at Maggie Mountain Vacations as there is an additional non-refundable pet fee, not included in the base rent. Unauthorized pets on property will incur a $300 per pet penalty. The approach to this property is a paved access mountain road with an increase in incline as you get closer to the home. The drive is gravel with some steepness. We do experience seasonal inclement weather in this region. All-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive and/or snow tire chains would be required in winter weather driving events. Exterior security cameras are on premise.
There is so much to do around this vacation home all year-round. Dogwood House is easy paved access during the summer months and is located just a few minutes’ drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area (known for being one of the first ski resorts in the US to open each year), Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on the History Channel's “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In about 25 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
This home is about a 20 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and Harrah's Cherokee Casino (even if you do not gamble, Harrah's has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).
A little more than 50 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America's largest and most visited privately-owned home), many great restaurants and micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 30 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.
Approximately, 1 hour away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are just under 1 hour 35 minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee (home of Dollywood).
