Brushy Creek is a beautiful spacious cabin overlooking a bold rushing creek with cascading waterfalls. Everyone in the family will enjoy this roomy 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom home complete with custom built in cabinetry and furnishings. You will find plenty of room for the kids to camp out in the bunkroom with a set of bunk beds, full size on the bottom and twin size on the top, as well as a platform twin bed at the top of a short ladder. The WiFi plus ample sized Game Room with cable TV and a pool table, will provide hours of entertainment. The roomy open kitchen with bar seating offers the rustic feel of a cabin gracefully blended with a modern touch. If you prefer to grill you will find a hefty charcoal grill on the large deck. Walk a little farther up the deck to find a bubbly hot tub tucked under the trees. When you are ready for a short hike down the hill, head down to the creek. You will find a few outdoor chairs along the creek if you wish to simply sit still and take in the beauty. For the more adventurous you can hike along the creek finding several cascading waterfalls as you walk along. After the day is over gather round the large fire pit outside and enjoy the cool mountain air while you try your hand at making old fashioned S’mores over an open fire.
Brushy Creek sits high on a mountain nestled in the trees offering plenty of shade and cool mountain breezes. Brushy Creek does not have central AC but does have a window unit AC in the master bedroom. Brushy Creek features; WiFi, HD cable TV in the game room, pool table, hot tub, charcoal grill, fire pit, bold rushing creek. Firewood for the firepit is available for purchase by the bundle from Maggie Mountain Vacations.
Please note this home is not accessible to the ski area from GPS directions. You must use Fie Top Road access making this home 17 miles from Cataloochee. GPS routing from this home to the ski area is an inaccessible unmaintained fire road which is closed to the general public. This house does not have central AC. The master bedroom has a window unit air conditioner.
Less than a 30 minute drive to the heart of Maggie Valley, Cataloochee Ski Area, Tube World (snow tubing), Wheels Through Time (a historic motorcycle museum featured on History Channel's “American Pickers”), horseback riding and golfing. In 20 minutes, you could be in Waynesville at Ingles and Publix grocery stores, Walmart or head to Main Street in Waynesville and enjoy additional shopping, dining, and sightseeing.
This cabin is also is a short 40 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, and the Harrah's Cherokee Casino (even if you do not gamble, it has some of the best restaurants around), Pisgah National Forest, several golf courses, and just west of Cherokee is Bryson City (home of the Great Smoky Mountain Railway and “Polar Express” during the Christmas Holiday).
Not even 45 minutes away, you’ll arrive in Asheville at the Biltmore Estate & Winery (America's largest and most visited privately-owned home), great restaurants and micro-breweries, and 1 hour and 25 minutes away is Transylvania County (home of the most waterfalls in the United States), and over 100 Antique Shops.
Approximately, 50 minutes away heading south to Hendersonville, you can visit Sierra Nevada Brewery (with their enormous dining and Tap Room), gem mining, white water rafting, zip-lining and much more in the surrounding areas. You are 1 hour 25 minutes to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennesse (home of Dollywood).
There is a paved mountain road, upon approach. The driveway is hard packed gravel, and moderately steep. We do experience inclement weather in this region, seasonally, that may limit accessibility; we recommend all-wheel drive for access. 4-wheel drive is required in winter, with the possibility of tire chains as well.
